The Wanaka Leg

One the way from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo and on to Dunedin we came across a very strange sight. A fence of shoes called the Wanaka Leg or Shoe Fence. There were pairs of Ski boots and almost new Reeboks, plastic sandals and the odd pair of thongs (jandals to keewees).

We didn't have a pair of shoes we could spare so jb wrote a note and we left that. It said "The people I am with are from Brissy and are too stingy to leave a pair, so I have drawn one".
