Larnach Castle

Larnach Castle is a private home lived in by the Barker family. They have spent many years restoring the castle to its former graciousness.

Construction of the castle began in 1871 and was built for Mr Larnach's wife Eliza who was a wealthy French heiress. It took over 15 years to complete.

Wandering through this castle you can see how much work went into this place. The huge wardrobes that must have been brought in piece by piece and put together. The craftsmanship is excellent. You are transported back into a bygone time where men were men and their ladies were indeed ladies.

There is also sumptious accommodation here for those who wish for a private time away. Also the ballroom has a sprung wooden floor and fireplaces. Wow wouldn't this have been the place to live back a century ago. The gardens are extensive and have won many prizes.
