Kaikoura

Kaikoura is a small sleepy fishing village on the coast just south of Picton on the South Island of New Zealand. Here we saw a fishing boat named Kotare, a very old car that still goes and spent some time talking to the seals at the Seal Colony.

Do you think maybe Ellie has a special way with seals, she even got one to do some tricks.

As you drive along the coast south there are seals on the numerous rocks and islands off the beach and the train line runs through the hills right beside the road.

A nice village and a fantastic scenic drive. On the way down, Kotare, Ellie and Henry were the only ones awake to enjoy it so we made sure we came through on the way back in daylight so the rest of us could enjoy what they saw.

Now this is a sight we never thought we would see...... What a find. Kotare was stoked.
