Tekapo

Our side trip to Tekapo in search of this chapel was a fruitful one. We arrived to find a mass in progress. Ellie and jb entered and sat in on the tail end of the service. Kotare kept the kids entertained with exploring while they did that.

The Chapel lies on the banks of Lake Tekapo and looks towards Mt Cook in the distance. It has a wonderful glass panorama window behind the altar which looks down the lake and on a clear day you can almost see forever. A wonderfully remote place where one can go in quiet and worship.

In the nearby graveyard there is a statue of a dog, likened to Grey Friar's "Bobby" in that this dog protects the graveyard.
